Not my idea but a colleague talking to another friend about his recent scorcher of a race, the Boston Marathon. It was super hot. Organizers weren't prepared with ice (mid-upper eighties in April is not at all common in Boston).
He mentioned some kids were handing out popsicles to runners.
Aha! Energy dring popsicles! I could have used some of those on RAGBRAI last year. Southern states would probably rock this. AND, they do! Google -Gatorage Popsicle- and you get enough videos and recipes and user generated content that one would have to wonder why some energy drink company has not created these. (Perhaps they have?) Seems like a no brainer for the summer months (think limited production like McRib).
